Who Are We?

Leighton Park is an independent day and boarding school for boys and girls. As well as delivering a high-quality education programme to its students, Leighton Park also has a Summer School programme during July/August each year. In partnership with Experio Summer, the School invites students aged 8–17 from all over the world to experience life in a British boarding school, improve their English, and take part in a wide variety of sporting, drama, and arts activities, as well as participate in a full excursion programme to some of the UK’s best destinations.

Who Are We Looking For?

To achieve this, we are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in working with children and as part of a team to help us deliver a fantastic activities programme over the 6-week summer period. We have established, over several years of operations, a fantastic reputation for recruiting high-quality staff who can get stuck in and take the initiative, to help us to deliver our exciting summer programme. We are looking for strong applicants who work well independently and as part of a team, who can develop positive relationships with our visiting students and overseas group leaders and can bring enthusiasm to our team and programme.

Why work with Experio Summer?

We specialise in providing English language courses for students aged 8–17 and concentrate on a balanced mix between learning in the classroom and learning during activities and on excursions. We are dedicated to giving students a memorable, enjoyable and, above all, safe experience whenever they stay at Leighton Park.

Our staff are an incredibly important part of this and have the opportunity to give a young person the experience of a lifetime, giving them memories they will treasure. By helping students use and improve their English, our staff really enhance the experience of each and every student that spends time with us over the summer.

Our staff are without doubt our most valuable asset, and our students often describe the staff as one of the best things about their vacation in the UK. We welcome new applicants but also value our returning staff, and to both we offer an attractive package that includes:

  • A competitive weekly salary including holiday pay
  • Full-board and accommodation
  • Use of the sports facilities during the term of your employment
  • Opportunity to work as part of a team in a fun and rewarding setting

This is what our staff say about working for us!

A fantastic six weeks, meeting new people and experiencing a host of different excursion destinations.

Being part of an awesome team made the weeks fly by, great memories and was sad to say goodbye at the end.

Making students smile every day was a pleasure and being part of the summer school team was so rewarding. I’ll be back next year if they will have me!

Working with team members and students on a variety of different activities was such fun and such a rewarding experience, oh and the food was great.

I can’t wait to return next year to be a part of the Experio Summer programme once more.

How do we recruit our staff?

All prospective staff must complete our official Job Application Form. In line with safer recruitment for roles involving responsibility for children or substantial access to under 18s, all gaps in employment history must be explained, references will be followed up, and all staff will undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or overseas equivalent).

Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to an initial video interview, with successful applicants moving through to our assessment day Applicants are recommended to prepare by carefully reading the job description of the role they are applying for. Candidates successful at the assessment day will be offered a position, subject to receipt of two satisfactory references, relevant safeguarding checks, and proof of identity.
